Filipina 'person of interest' in Las Vegas shooting cleared by police

Marilou Danley, the partner of the Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock is in Asia on holiday with friends, Australian media reported.

"There are reports her ID was used for booking the hotel or some such detail", Australia foreign minister Julie Bishop said, per the Courier Mail.

Danley, 62, who had traveled to Hong Kong on September 25, could fill in some of the blanks when she returns to the US on Wednesday, the officials said.

Danley had listed a downtown Reno address owned by Paddock as where she was living during her divorce, and then started staying at the residence in August 2013, the Gazette-Journal said.

"She had nothing to do with this psycho, "the person said".

Paddock was a 64-year-old retiree and high-stakes gambler.

Marilou Danley, the woman whose name was dragged in the shooting incident, initially described as of "Asian descent" was later found to be a Filipina.

At least 58 people are dead and more than 500 are injured after crazed gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire during a concert at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas.

"We offer our deepest sympathies to the United States over this disturbing act of violence that took the lives of 50 people in Las Vegas last night", Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said in a statement from NY where he is on an official visit.

He added Consul General Adelio Angelito Cruz was also checking the condition of the 131,000 members of the Filipino community in Las Vegas.
