ME motorists get some relief as post-hurricane gas prices continue decline

Several other convenient stores and gas station outlets were reported prices at $2.37 per gallon Monday.

A gallon of regular gas now averages $2.57 nationwide, according to the AAA.

The statewide average ($2.53) remains below the national average ($2.49), though it did drop 8 cents in the past week.

In Broward County, hefty price drops were occurring in the Davie area, including down to $2.29 at Rocket Fuel on Sterling Road, just west of Florida's Turnpike and $2.31 next door at Marathon.

As the market continues to correct itself following back-to-back major storms, and with Hurricane Nate's impact not expected to affect local prices, analysts are predicting more declines this week.
