Elon Musk's SpaceX successfully launches satellite for EchoStar, SES

SpaceX successfully landed the rocket's first stage on a droneship in the Atlantic Ocean for reuse in another future launch. SES has repeatedly demonstrated confidence in the rocket company's ability to make reusable launch technology safe.

SpaceX is participating in eight launches that are sending a total of 75 Iridium satellites into space, according to the Iridium statement.

SpaceX completed its third launch with a previously used first stage booster October 11, carrying a geostationary satellite for customers EchoStar and SES. SpaceX has carried out 14 flights this year so far, and if Wednesday's mission is successful, it would allow the company to achieve its goal of 20 flights by the end of the year.

Hurricane Ophelia meandering in the Atlantic
It is expected to make a close approach to the Azores as a Category 1 hurricane, though a direct landfall doesn't appear likely. Forecasters predict that Ireland, Northern Ireland and western portions of Britain will likely bear the brunt of Ophelia.

The SpaceX rocket launched at 5:37 a.m., Pacific time, Monday from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, the company said in a statement. "You can see the EchoStar 105/SES-11 satellite successfully deployed from the top of the Falcon 9 second stage, gliding away into space".

Luxembourg-based SES, which was the first customer to dare to use a pre-flown Falcon 9 later that month, said it would fly up to three such missions this year. The organization launched the initial 10 of these tests in January and another bunch of 10 in June.

The newly launched EchoStar 105/SES-11 is a high-powered hybrid Ku and C-band communications satellite. The rocket used on this flight included a first stage that was previously flown for a Space Station resupply mission in February, and then recovered and refurbished by SpaceX.

I think BCCI looking into it. "I always wanted to retire on a high", he added. "If I am leaving, I will leave completely". I realize that when I retire on November 1, there are five months before the next IPL and I could easily play.

SpaceX will stream the entire launch for free on YouTube.

SpaceX has now launched 15 times this year and landed 18 boosters overall. It'll provide Ku-band communication services through EchoStar for commercial and USA government customers, as well as high-definition and ultra-high-def video service through SES in the C-band part of the spectrum.

Musk celebrated the launching of the satellites into space on Instagram.
