Facebook Reveals its VR Headset Oculus at $199

With the release of the first mass-market Oculus Rift headset past year, Oculus has been progressing to look into new ways to expand on the growing interest in virtual reality technology, with the company have shown off two new products coming on the horizon.

In related news, Facebook boss, Mark Zuckerberg, also made mention of a prototype VR headset known as Santa Cruz, which appears to look like a wireless version of the Rift.

The stand-alone headset doesn't require plugging in a smartphone or a cord tethering it to a personal computer like other VR, or virtual reality, headsets. The 2016 Oculus Rift sold for $599 and required a computer costing at least $500 for the full VR experience. Oculus has used a new fabric for Go's facial interface which is "soft and breathable".

Teens Get Their Own Amazon Accounts, With Parents' Approval
The parent will need to setup the shipping address and payment method, after which point an invitation is sent back to the teen. Parents are shown the item, how much it costs, and similar details, as well as any note about it the teen may have made.

This new device will be a rival for Samsung's Gear and Google's Daydream devices; how strong of a rival is unclear, as both competing products are priced lower than the Oculus Go, at $100. Oculus head, Hugo Barra also stated that the Go is "hands-down the easiest way to get into VR". It is expected to ship early next year and carries a $199.99 price tag in North America.

With a goal of having a seventh of the world's population using VR, many consider that Zuckerberg is being a bit too ambitious, especially if he wants to achieve this number in the coming decades.

At yesterday's Oculus Connect 4 event, Facebook took the wraps off the Oculus Go VR headset. The company claims it "dramatically improves visual clarity and reduces screen door effect", while also offering a wide field of view with reduced glare. It's also going to have integrated audio, so you don't have to worry about any extra cables lingering around while you're trying to immerse yourself in the moment.

According to him, many countries are searching for ways to regulate cryptocurrencies and just beginning to create necessary legislation and regulatory framework.

Recent discounts lowered the Rift's price to $399 at various times during the summer, a markdown Oculus now says will be permanent.

After many people criticized the VR broadcast in the comments on his Facebook profile, Zuckerberg apologized. The Oculus Go would give users a similar experience to the Gear VR i.e., allowing users to spin around, but moving around is restricted, notes TechCrunch.
