New Information Changes Timeline of Las Vegas Shooting

(CNN)Stephen Paddock shot a security guard before opening fire on concertgoers in Las Vegas last weekend, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said.

Paddock shot dead 58 people and injured nearly 500 as he opened fire on concert goers from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel last Sunday before turning the gun on himself. Paddock killed 58 people and injured more than 500 before killing himself.

According to Lombardo, Campos came up to the 32nd floor to investigate an alarm caused by an open door unrelated to Paddock.

Officials had previously credited Campos, who was shot in the leg, with stopping the 10-minute assault by turning the gunman's attention to the hotel hallway, where Campos was checking an alert for an open door in another guest's room.

The girlfriend of the Las Vegas shooter reportedly was added to a government watch list Wednesday as police continue trying to zero in on a motive for the deadly attack. Authorities do not yet know what made him stop shooting, Lombardo said.
