National Weather Service to survey storm-related damage in the Upstate

The severe storms on Monday left buildings crushed, tractor trailers overturned and homes destroyed.

The National Weather Service is investigating reports of downed trees in Dorchester and Colleton Counties from Monday night's storms. According to the National Weather Service, the state has been hit by more than 700 tornadoes in the months of November through February since 1950. Chimney Rock State Park was closed while crews dealt with damage that included a landslide.
