Do NOT Click On This Email From 'Netflix'

According to the Mailguard Blog, there is an easy way to spot the scam: for whatever reason, while the email addresses of Netflix users were successfully acquired by the scammers, the first names of the users were not.

If the link in the email you get does not take you to Netflix's website, just ignore it. This means, the email could target subscribers to steal their personal and credit card information. Subscribers are then asked to enter their billing information.

Picked up by Australian web and email security firm MailGuard, the subject line of the email reads "Your suspension notification".

Many email scams are rather crude and easy to spot, but they're getting more sophisticated all the time. All they need to do is to sign back in, update your credit card information, and restart their account.

Make account changes by navigating, on your own, to a site itself, and log in there instead of going through an email link. In order to verify any emails about billing or other information, Netflix said one could put their cursor over whatever link is in the note and see the real address at the bottom of their browser. The emails were created to look like they been coming directly from Netflix, and informs recipients they need to update their payment details.

A Netflix scam has attacked 110 million subscribers.
