Tennessee fires Butch Jones

Butch Jones apparently isn't too interested in keeping the recruiting class he assembled in place at Tennessee.

Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports reported on Sunday that Jones has informed his staff he is being let go.

Jones was sacked on Sunday morning, and by midday, Tennessee Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletic John Currine made it official. Jones' firing comes one day after Tennessee (4-6, 0-6) fell 50-17 at Missouri for its fifth loss in its last six games.

And although Hearn splits opinion in the boxing world, there were loads of people that loved him for what he said about Wilder. If we offered Deontay the correct purse for this fight it would never happen because he would think it was disrespectful.

"We have been fortunate to have coach Jones lead our program for the past five years", Currie said. When was this team going to overtake the competition in the SEC East, finally defeat Alabama, win a conference championship and be in the College Football Playoff discussion?

The Ferris State alum ends his tenure at Tennessee with a 34-27 record overall, and a 14-24 mark against SEC opponents.

Tennessee was not expected to win the SEC East, but they were projected to be competitive in the division with Georgia and Florida. Butch Jones is out, and Brady Hoke will finish out the year calling the shots for the Vols. I want to make clear that we are intensely committed to hiring the best coach of Tennessee. The Vols followed up that Georgia defeat by losing four of their next five games.

Belarus and United States tied after opening day of Fed Cup final
For me, Fed Cup is probably one of the more exciting moments I could have in my career. I was so emotional during the match, because I felt all the support from spectators.

Jones, hired at Tennessee on December 7, 2012, as the Vols' 24 head coach, after winning four conference championships in his previous six years, and his staff have done a terrific job recruiting players to Tennessee, but the development of many has been widely considered sub-par.

Defensive line coach Brady Hoke will replace Jones for the rest of the season with games against LSU and Vanderbilt remaining. In 2015, Tennessee lost to Florida, keeping the Vols from Atlanta.

Hoke is a familiar name to college football fans, as the former head coach at MI (2011-2014), San Diego State (2009-2010) and Ball State (2003-2008).

Amazon to roll out pop-up stores inside Bay Area Whole Foods locations
The pop-up stores are an expansion of Amazon's strategy of selling its first-party devices inside Whole Foods. The discounts vary, and include $30 off the Echo Plus, Kindle Paperwhite, and Fire HD 8 tablet.

The 59-year-old Hoke has head coaching experience at Ball State (six years), San Diego State (two years) and MI (four years), and after his dismissal at MI after the 2014 season, Hoke was out of coaching for a year before spending the 2016 season as Oregon's defensive coordinator. Now Tennessee can officially join rival Florida on the coaching carousel in the pursuit of its next coach.
