Trump suggested softening the USA stance toward Russian Federation and easing sanctions

Earlier Saturday, the Kremlin issued a statement saying the leaders had reached agreement on a number of principles for the future of civil war-torn Syria now that the Islamic State group has largely been pushed out. "He said he didn't meddle, he said he didn't meddle". "I asked him again. You can only ask so many times", Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as he flew from Da Nang to Hanoi in Vietnam.

That wasn't the first time Trump accepted Putin's account about election interference.

"I really believe that, when he tells me that, he means it", Trump told reporters. "And I believe, I really believe, that when he tells me that, he means it". "I think he is very insulted by it, which is not a good thing for our country".

Jetting from Tokyo to Seoul to Beijing, Trump has largely remained quiet about the Russian Federation investigation back home. "And to try to pain in any other way is I think astounding and in fact poses a peril to this country", he added.

He suggested that Republicans "should consider a write-in" candidate for the Alabama Senate race but said there's "no easy solution".

He added he thought that Putin and he could "have the potential to have a very, very good relationship".

And in January, 17 USA intelligence agencies took the extraordinary step of stating publicly that they believed Russian Federation did try to interfere.

Trump walked his comments back on Sunday after they drew heavy backlash from lawmakers and former United States intelligence officials, who said it was "naive" and "puzzling" for Trump to trust Putin over the USA intelligence community.

Part of the answer could be that Trump is easily flattered by foreign leaders if they praise him, as Clapper noted.

Sunday's First Warning Forecast: More clouds, highs in the 50s
This storm system continues to look fairly disorganized and so the precipitation that comes with it is still expected to be light. A partly cloudy sky early in the day will give way to an increase in clouds by the afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front.

"What I believe is that we have to get to work", Trump said. "Comey is proven now to be a liar and he's proven to be a leaker", he added, also referencing former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey. "President Trump is not getting played by anybody".

Characterizing Trump's dealings with Russian Federation as colored by "naiveté, ignorance or fear", Brennan said the tenor of Trump's encounters with Putin - the latest of which came during his Asia trip - fuels the belief, especially among authoritarian or adversarial leaders, that it is easy to take advantage of the US president. The agency declined to comment further.

"I found it particularly reprehensible that on Veterans Day, Donald Trump would attack and impugn the integrity and the character of Jim Clapper, who served in uniform for 35 years", said the ex-CIA chief. "And I think everybody understood this that heard the answer". I just asked him again. "I would rather have him get out of Syria".

Clapper agreed: "It's very clear that the Russians interfered in the election, and it's still puzzling as to why Mr. Trump does not acknowledge that and embrace it and also push hard against Mr. Putin".

Steelers CB Joe Haden questionable to return against Colts
Offensively the first half was completely forgettable but Pittsburgh came out of halftime and started to assert themselves. In addition to Sensabaugh, the Steelers can also activate third-round rookie Cam Sutton off injured reserve.

Private "pull-asides" at summit meetings have drawn criticisms of Barack Obama and previous presidents who have engaged in them. But as the summit wore on, U.S. and Russian officials diverged in their public statements, with American officials saying a meeting wasn't happening and Russian officials indicating it still might. Trump has met his Russian counterpart only one for such a face-to-face bilateral session, at the G20 summit in Germany in July.
