Actress sues Harvey Weinstein claiming he raped her

The actor, referred to as Jane Doe in the court documents, claims she met the Hollywood producer at a hotel in 2011, where Weinstein allegedly offered to help with her career and they exchanged their phone number.

According to, Weinstein and bosses at his former companies Miramax and The Weinstein Company are being sued for assault, infliction of emotional distress, and violation of a federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statute.

TMZ reports that the actress is suing Weinstein for masturbating in front of her and then raping her.

In 2015, the actress claims she met Weinstein at the Montage hotel to talk about a role on the show Marco Polo as well as "acting in two to three other projects". During the meeting, Weinstein allegedly masturbated in front of her while gripping her wrist. The document states that Weinstein maintained contact with the actress for several years, including inviting her to parties. He later emerged from the bathroom in a bathrobe and allegedly forcibly performed oral and vaginal sex on her. She doesn't say, but presumably this happened in a hotel room.

Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.

"The companies' executives, officers, directors, managing agents and employees had actual knowledge of Weinstein's repeated acts of sexual misconduct with women", the suit alleged.

On Nov. 11, her attorney Alex Straus filed a motion requesting that the D.A.'s office narrow the scope of material it wanted to review, especially with regard to her therapist's records. The lawsuit marks the latest in a series of legal actions against the New York-based company after a barrage of sexual misconduct allegations against its co-founder.
