UFC fighters involved in assault with 'boomerang' at Sydney hotel

"UFC was made aware of the altercation between Fabricio Werdum and Colby Covington at the organization's host hotel in Sydney, Australia", the UFC said in a statement.

Shocked onlookers began to film the exchange moments before Werdum responded by throwing a plastic bag with a boomerang inside, hitting Covington in the neck. That really upset a lot of Brazilian fighters, and it's nearly guaranteed this assault from Werdum was related to those comments. Bunch of filthy animals.

Last month he berated Brazil as a "dump" full of "filthy animals" following a victory in Sao Paulo.

The rant was slammed by Werdum, a Brazilian, to which Covington fired back: "F-- Fabricio Werdum, little b-- a-". "How f***ing amusing dude".

"This guy is really audacious", Werdum said.

"If I had hit him in the face, he would be in the hospital", Werdum continued. "I went down with my master [Rafael Cordeiro]: 'Master, let's get a hair cut and shave the beard.' We were in the lobby, and I've never seen this guy before".

Werdum gave an inteview with Brazil's UOL and said Covington was the instigator of the incident. "I no touch him".

"Look at you, f**king f**got", Colby said. In the leadup to the fight, Covington turned full wrestling heal and talked all sorts of trash towards both Maia and Brazil. He wants media, wants to copy Conor McGregor.
