Florida State set to hire Willie Taggart

Florida State University and Taggart, the current OR and former University of South Florida coach, have reached agreement on a deal.

According to multiple reports, Taggart is leaving OR to become the next coach at Florida State, a job left open when Jimbo Fisher went to Texas A&M.

Taggart spent just one season at OR following his tenure locally at the University of South Florida.

Taggart, and Odell Haggins - Fisher's replacement on an interim basis - are the first black head football coaches at Florida State.

Flu season coming earlier than expected in Ohio
Health experts look to Australia to measure the effectiveness of the vaccine and the severity of the flu headed our way. This year, the onslaught of a particularly deadly strain of the flu virus may lead to a harsher flu season than usual.

At Oregon, Taggart's team was averaging 49.6 points per game as it got off to a 4-1 start.

Taggart coached the Ducks to a 7-5 record in 2017.

At USF, Taggart took the Bulls from a 2-10 record his first season in 2013 to a 10-2 mark last season before he departed for Oregon. He led USF to a win against SC in the Birmingham Bowl last season before heading to Oregon.

This was the first time Florida State had to conduct a coaching search since 1975.

OR started 4-1 and even briefly popped into the AP rankings, but starting quarterback Justin Herbert broke his collarbone and the Ducks floundered, going 1-4 without him.

With Taggart now on board, Florida State can fully focus their attention on the Independence Bowl against Southern Mississippi on Saturday December 30th. When Herbert returned, the Ducks won their final two games over Arizona and rival Oregon State to clinch a bowl berth.

McMurphy also cited sources saying returning to his home state of Florida was a factor in Taggart's decision. Shockingly, that already makes Mullen the fifth-longest serving coach in the Sunshine State. After quarterback Deondre Francois was injured in the highly-anticipated opener against Alabama, FSU, ranked No. 3 to begin the season, got off to a awful 2-5 start.

While his overall record may be underwhelming, Taggart holds a 25-9 record in the past three years.

In a tweet, the president said that the United States "needs Roy Moore " inside the Senate to help against Democrats. Trump's endorsement followed weeks of silence and a tepid statement about the race.
