How to automatically save your Instagram Stories forever

How to automatically save your Instagram Stories forever

Many people use Instagram more so now to showcase themselves and their personality, artwork, day-to-day activities, and more, so it's no surprise that Instagram would like to catch up so we can hold onto those memories for more than just 24 hours.

Instagram has two new features that put more emphasis on its massively popular "Stories", the Snapchat clone that lets you share ephemeral videos with your followers. These "highlights" appear as circular icons in a dedicated section on your profile page, just below your bio. Once that is accomplished, give your Stories Highlights a name and select a cover. Instagram will add your expired stories to the feature; but with option for users to opt out at any time they so desire to. When you're finished, the story highlight will sit on your profile page to the right of the "new" bubble, where users tap to view it.

You can find them by going to your profile page on Instagram.

As supermoon sets, the king tide rises
With the moon approaching perigee, night sky photographers set out to shoot the big, glowing satellite this weekend. Nasa research scientists said that supermoons were "a great opportunity for people to start looking at the moon".

Thank goodness, because this is what Instagram Stories didn't have that Snapchat does. From there, you can easily switch between your Posts Archive and your new Stories Archive.

And for good reason - part of the company's reasoning behind Stories in the first place (besides competing with Snapchat, that is) was that users were so exacting about what was on their profile that they weren't posting almost as often as Instagram wanted. And the other, Stories Archive, is meant to help you hang onto the Stories you really want to save.

The platform said a lot of users were downloading their stories but a usual complaint was that it was gone before they had the chance to save it to their phone.

Broadcom and Qualcomm; GNC — CORPORATE REPORT
Broadcom is turning to Qualcomm shareholders to make an acquisition happen, following an unsuccessful takeover talk in November. The deal is potentially worth up to $130 billion if Qualcomm's debt is taken into consideration.

The second feature that is coming to Stories is called Archive. From there, you can add it to your story, share it as a post or add it to a highlight on your profile. You can now bundle your favorite stories together to create individual highlights. Visit MarketWatch.com for more information on this news.

To check out your expired stories, tap the archive icon in the top-right corner of your profile. To edit or delete a highlight, press and hold its icon. In your Stories Archive, your stories will appear in a grid with the most recent stories at the bottom. Instagram Stories Highlights and Stories Archives will be rolling out to iOS and Android users on Tuesday. To create a Stories Highlight, tap on the "New" circle on the far left, and choose any of the stories from your archives.

Amazon Marketplace launches with office products
