Bridge Constructor Portal revives Valve's murderous but lovable GlaDOS

The last few Portal games were all in the style of tie-ins and spinoffs such as in Lego Dimensions, or the brief Aperture themed areas in Valve's VR demo.

Headup Games has announced the next entry in its Bridge Constructor series: Bridge Constructor Portal. No, it's not Portal 3, but Bridge Constructor is a fun game.

The game has players tackling vehicle-based test chambers; these also make us of portal technology.

Bridge Constructor Portal is expected to come out in two weeks, on the 20th of December, for PC, Android, and iOS. You might even be waiting forever, if Valve drops Portal in the same way it has Half-Life.

Bridge Constructor Portal seems to be more "Bridge Constructor" than "Portal".

Portal has gone all over the place, from the darkest depths of Aperture Science to outer space, briefly.

Then, at some point in 2018, Bridge Constructor Portal will arrive on consoles, but we don't have a more specific launch date for that version yet.

As its title suggests, Bridge Constructor Portal is a crossover between Bridge Constructor and Portal. The small teaser screenshot released alongside this announcement hints at some very Portal-like puzzles reconfigured to fit within the confines of Bridge Constructor's design space. Valve doesn't seem particularly interested in making games like Portal any more, and series co-creator and head writer Erik Wolpaw left the company earlier this year.
