Matt Lauer Ouster Announcement Works Well For 'Today' Show, Ratings-Wise

"CBS This Morning" was in third for the week with 3.5 million. In the prior week, "GMA" won just 110,000 more viewers than "Today".

The last time "Today" beat "Good Morning America" in weekly viewership was September 4 through 8.

According to Nielsen data for November 27 through Friday, "Today" averaged 4.9 million viewers, topping ABC's "Good Morning America", which had 4.4 million.

On the day of the Lauer firing announcement, a whopping 5.74 million tuned in.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to DailyMail.com that Lauer would not be receiving any payday or salary beyond his last day of work at the network.

Mane pounced on a poor touch in midfield, and his cross into the box fell at the feet of Firmino who made no mistake. They have scored three goals or more in seven of those matches.

Matt Lauer's ousting has actually done the Today show good.

The host of "MSNBC Live" reportedly is on the short list to replace Lauer on the first hour of "TODAY", according to Entertainment Tonight.

"Sunday Today" host Willie Geist has also been rumored as a possible replacement, as have Megyn Kelly and Hoda Kotb. A decision is not expected until after the new year.

NBC News president Noah Oppenheim promised swift action against anyone who may have known about sexually inappropriate behavior and didn't report it.

Zucker, the former chair of NBC Universal, roasted Lauer at an event in 2008 at the New York Hilton for his odd sexual behavior in the workplace, and did so in front of a number of media elites.

We also expect to see the rollout of Samsung's own 2018 flagship Galaxy S9 devices at that time. A boost in overall read and write performance is also expected.

"Today" co-anchor Savannah Guthrie broke the news about Lauer's dismissal on Wednesday's program.

Both NBC and ABC will likely give more attention to this week's audience measures to get a more normalized sense of viewership patterns surrounding the two shows.

Lauer said in his statement that some of the accusations against him were "untrue or mischaracterized", without explaining further, but said that "there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed".

"Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching and I'm committed to beginning that effort. It is now my full time job", Lauer said. "I thank them for their patience and grace".
