Rain, Cooler Weather Wednesday

All morning, thick clouds have blanketed the region, and rain showers have been off and on. Temperatures will gradually turn colder with Thursday afternoon temperatures in the middle and upper 40s dropping into the lower and middle 40s by Friday.

Showers will occur throughout much of Tuesday afternoon and overnight into Wednesday morning.

Travelers should use caution when driving through heavy periods of rain, and should watch for deep puddles and hot spots along N.C. Highway 12.

Temperatures will be well below normal Wednesday through the early part odf next week.
