Apple's battery replacement program may lead to 16M lost sales of iPhones

An Apple Support team member confirmed to Newshub that battery replacements are now just $49 - just over a third of what it used to cost here - and will be available to any customers concerned about battery performance.

Apple last month admitted that in recent years its iOS software intentionally slow the performance of older iPhones when the batteries degraded.

The current iPhone battery saga certainly hasn't gone under the radar in the headlines, but a promised update to iOS will likely increase the number of customers who decide to have their batteries replaced.
