Airtel and Idea revamp their plans to compete with Reliance Jio's offers

The Mukesh Ambani-owned company has reduced rates by Rs 50 across its all 1GB plans. Reliance Jio also faces stark competition from the big companies like Airtel and Vodafone, which have taken Jio's lead and are providing internet services at lower costs so as to bridge the gap of consumers that have subscribed to its services. Till now for Rs 149 plan in Jio, a subscriber would get only 4GB data a month. The plan is valid for 28 days. Players like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have been trying hard to counter Reliance Jio's offers.

-Rs 198: Under this plan, Jio now offers 28GB of 4G data for 28days, but post-Jan 9 - after Jio updates the plans - the plan will offer 42GB of data for the same duration - 28 days.

Starting off with Bharti Airtel's tariff revision, the popular Rs 448 tariff plan now gives 1GB data per day for 82 days, up from the 70 days validity.

-Rs 399 changes to Rs 349: The services that Jio offered under Rs 399 will now be available at Rs 349. Jio's Rs 198, Rs 398, Rs 448 and Rs 498 plan will offer 1.5 GB of 4G data per day and have validity of 28 days, 70 days, 84 days and 91 days, respectively.

In the wake of Jio's latest Happy New Year 2018 plans, Airtel has revised most of their existing 1GB per day plans for prepaid users. The Rs 398 plan will offer 105GB data for 70 days as opposed to 70GB data now offered with this plan. All these data packs will offer unlimited calls, SMS bundle, and access to Jio's marque suit of apps.

All Jio plans will continue to offer free unlimited calling and SMSes within India even during roaming. Previously, the same plan used to provide 49GB data for 49 days.

Similarly, Vodafone's Rs 349 plan offers 1.5GB 4GB/ 3G per day for 28 days. Along with that, you can enjoy unlimited local, STD and roaming calls and 100 SMS per day, just like before.
