Nvidia partners with Volkswagen, Uber, Baidu, and more for self-driving cars

The two companies said they would initially work on an "Intelligent Co-Pilot" system that will gather data from both in and outside the auto.

We really have no idea what to expect from it, but the NVIDIA CES 2018 conference schedule has mentions of their automotive initiatives, including autonomous vehicle technology.

NVIDIA's DRIVE PX platforms will be backed by two new complementary software platforms: DRIVE IX and DRIVE AR.

Hold on! Trump makes everyone wait on 'Fake News Awards'
Late night hosts took advantage of Trump's latest invention to poke fun at the president - and put themselves up for the honor, of course.

The technology would allow facial recognition to automatically unlock the vehicle, surround perception to warn the driver of potential dangers, gesture recognition for user controls, language understanding for a flawless voice control and gaze tracking to avoid driver distractions. The company aims to gradually introduce autonomous driving starting in 2020. Its current plans call for 20 fully electric cars from Volkswagen by 2022.

Nvidia Corp, trying to spread its industry-leading graphics chip technology into new areas, said Uber Technologies Inc and Volkswagen AG will use its artificial intelligence expertise to help bring self-driving cars to the roads. Thanks to deep learning, the vehicle of the future will learn to accurately assess situations and analyze the behavior of others on the road, enabling it to make the right decisions.

At Nvidia's CES press conference, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess took the stage with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to talk about the partnership. The company says its driverless cars have completed more than 50,000 passenger trips and have logged over 2 million autonomous miles. Currently, 196,000 people work for Volkswagen across the globe. Volkswagen is forging ahead consistently with the further development of automobile production.

Warriors' Curry too hot for Clippers
Tatum recorded a career-best six blocked shots as Boston had 13 blocks while playing without centre Al Horford (sore left calf). The Celtics were trailing by one when Tatum got the ball and drove for a powerful slam that gave them an 84-83 lead.

The new DRIVE AI offerings include one focused on putting augmented reality into vehicles, in ways that Nvidia says could enhance and transform the driving experience.

On Sunday, chipmaker Nvidia Corp launched its next-generation autonomous driving stack at CES 2018 which is powered by the Drive Xavier. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI - the next era of computing - with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. As part of what it more generally calls the "software-defined auto", Nvidia's Drive platform allows for over-the-air updates, much as your phone's operating system can be updated remotely to enable new features. Crude falls back after U.S. oil producers up game
Oil hit its highest since May 2015 this week, supported by falling inventories, strong demand and high Opec compliance. The gains indicate that the global glut that has dogged the market since 2014 is shrinking.
