How the Roseanne Revival Is Tackling Trump's America Head

How the Roseanne Revival Is Tackling Trump's America Head

Never one to avoid a chance to stir up some controversy, comedienne Roseanne Barr revealed Monday that her character on the TV show "Roseanne" will be a supporter of President Donald Trump when the show returns to the air in March. "Of course, I love Oprah like everybody else".

The full cast is expected to return to the reboot, including John Goodman's character, husband "Dan Conner", and Laurie Metcalf who played Roseanne's sister "Jackie".

Roseanne Barr is a Trump supporter who has regularly filled her Twitter feed with insane conspiracy theories, wild claims about Trump's "successes", and vehement defenses of her support for the president. "So it was very real and something that needed to be discussed".

We got a preview of that during the press tour panel for the show, which began when a journalist asked about the parallel between the new "Roseanne", in which Roseanne Conner supports Donald Trump, and Barr herself, who has been vocal on Twitter about backing Trump and blasting Hillary Clinton, among others.

American Horror Story Is Finally Heading Into the Future
Since premiering in 2011, American Horror Story has become a global behemoth that's been commercially and critically loved. Murphy explained that after pitching the next season's theme, FX head John Landgraf "fell out of his chair with joy".

Regarding the 2016 election result, Barr said, "I think it was time for us, as a country, to shake things up and try something different".

The show's creators didn't say if any other characters will be portrayed as Trump supporters.

We'll see what happens when Roseanne actually premieres later this season, but we wonder just how many viewers from both sides of the political spectrum will be tuning in to hear that message.

She said she's "not a Trump apologist, and there are a lot of things he has said and done that I don't agree with". And especially about polarization in the family, and people actually hating other people for the way they voted, which I feel is not American.

US Vice President Mike Pence to travel to Middle East next week
Vice President Pence's office has announced new dates for his delayed trip to the Middle East: Jan. 19-23. There, Pence will give a speech at the Knesset, visit the Western Wall and the Yad Vashem museum.

The first press panel for the ROSEANNE revival went about as well as one could have expected, given star and executive producer Roseanne Barr's famous support of President Trump.

"There are a lot of things he's said and done I don't agree with, like there's probably a lot of things Hillary Clinton has done and said that you don't agree with", she continued. "And I did run in 2012". "Nobody is brainwashed into agreeing with 100 per cent of what anybody said".

President Trump has even thanked Barr for her comments of support. "I think that a great way to fight racism is that everybody has a job".

"Speaking of racism, I'm just going to say it."
After all, as Darlene actress and Roseanne E.P. Sara Gilbert put it, "This is a time when our country is divided".
