Vuzix Launches Alexa-Enabled Digital Glasses

"Alexa, what is it I'm looking at?" In October past year, Sonos Inc unveiled a smart speaker with Alexa's system for controlling music playback.

The first augmented-reality (AR) glasses with Inc's Alexa voice assistant is to be shown next week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas - manufactured by a 75-employee company rather than the e-commerce giant's growing devices division.

But Amazon wants Alexa nearby when you're out of the house, and not just on your phone or in the vehicle or on a laptop. Each of these have started developing Alexa Mobile Accessories for full hands-free integration with Amazon's virtual assistant. Amazon has confirmed that Vuzix's device is the first product of its kind to be Alexa-enabled.

Aside from Bose, Amazon is already working with a number of device makers, including Jabra, iHome, Beyerdynamic, Bowers and Wilkins, and AVS Solution Providers Linkplay, SUGR, and Libre Wireless.

It's worth pointing out that the glasses are not made by Amazon.
