CES 2018: Samsung's new smart refrigerator has AKG speakers built

Artificial intelligence (AI) played a key role in the news briefings held by LG, Samsung and startup Byton on the eve of the Consumer Electronics Show here as the three companies touted the technology's use in a wide range of products, including TVs, appliances, robots and even smart electric vehicles.

Samsung hasn't revealed the timeline for when we can expect the integration to land on its Gear watches, but did hint that it will come into effect at some point during the year.

Because of its module-based, bezel-less design, "The Wall" enables consumers to customize their TVs to the size and shape of their choice, it said, noting the modular screen can be used to create a wall-sized display, or just let users increase their traditional screen size to suit a new room in their home.

In addition, the company announced today its plan to advance IoT adoption via an open, consistent and intelligent platform.

CES 2018: BlackBerry announces bronze, dual SIM version of KEYone
Specs-wise, it has the same hardware as the Black Edition version, including 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. TCL's also bringing the previously launched BlackBerry Motion to United States shores and pricing it at $449.99.

Samsung is making it much easier to set up your smart TV using. your smartphone. Again, if all the apps get onboard, it will make a big difference, but anything that requires third-party apps to code in updates for a niche service (setting up a new TV!) is questionable. "These advancements will help consumers realize the benefits of a seamless and simple connected life". The better answer is that Samsung should launch SmartThings here as its one of the best IoT platforms for those looking to build a smart home with IFTTT powered automation.

Samsung announced at CES new features in its SmartThings platform. It will work with the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF), the world's largest IoT standardisation body, to set common industry standards for smart devices and to help products made by different manufacturers work together in harmony, and to boost security through its own secure Knox technology. "We've been listening closely to current users and created a new Family Hub that's even smarter and more advanced than before", said John Herrington, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics America.

Samsung has been working towards providing its users with a seamless connected experience for the past few years and now it appears that all of the pieces are beginning to fall into place.

Samsung's not stopping with its own products, either.
