Former Oregon coach Mark Helfrich lands job in NFL

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Chicago Bears have hired Helfrich to be their next offensive coordinator.

Helfrich had been drawing positive reviews for his work in the booth, calling games each week.

The Colts are reportedly interested in Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who in turn has been rumored to be interested in them. He went 37-16 in four seasons at OR but was sacked after his team finished 4-8 in 2016. However, Helrich was sacked in 2016 following a 4-8 season, which was Oregon's worst finish in 25 years.

In his third season, OR fell off to 9-4 and cracks were showing.

ISRO's 100th satellite is set for launch from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, along with 30 others in a single mission. Cartosat-2 series satellite is the primary satellite carried by PSLV-C40.

If Helfrich hadn't chose to go to the National Football League, it appears that he could have stayed in college.

Mitchell Trubisky should have a lot more fun with the offensively minded Matt Nagy as his new head coach, but general manager Ryan Pace needs to find him some weapons this offseason.

Helfrich got his first major break in coaching joining Koetter's staff at Boise State in 1998 and then following Koetter to Arizona State.

"Harry is an outstanding coach - one of the best offensive line coaches in football", Irish head coach Brian Kelly said in a statement. He coached quarterbacks while at OR, most notably Heisman Trophy victor Marcus Mariota.

Mark Helfrich is a smart guy.

Nagy spent 10 seasons working under Andy Reid in Philadelphia and Kansas City.

"We all are aware of that situation and that's a very important hire for me", Nagy said during his introductory news conference. Although Marcus Mariota is his most notable former player, Helfrich also mentored Andrew Walter at Arizona State, and then moved to OR, working with Jeremiah Masoli, Darron Thomas, Mariota and Vernon Adams, among others.
