Mkhwebane seeks to broaden scope of state capture inquiry

"In order to ensure that no stone is left unturned in so far as the allegations of state capture are concerned, and in order to avoid any further allegations of state capture being lodged with the Office of the Public Protector, the Public Protector calls upon the president of RSA to ensure that the terms of reference for the Commission of Inquiry are not limited to the issues investigated or identified in the State of Capture report", Mkhwebane said in her statement.

Zuma announced on Tuesday evening a commission of inquiry into state capture would be established and led by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo to "investigate allegations that the state has been wrestled out of the hands of its real owners, the people of South Africa", but the details of the inquiry are yet to be released.

Zuma unsuccessfully challenged Madonsela's report in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria last month.

The announcement has sparked comments and conversation on Twitter.

Georgia QB Jacob Eason likely transferring to Washington
A year later, he threw for 2,829 yards and 32 touchdowns while completing 68.6 percent of his passes. Eason was also notably supportive of Fromm following the loss in the National Championship Game.

He said further delays in appointing the commission would make the public doubt the government's commitment to dismantling "all forms of corruption" and entrench "the perception" that the state has been captured by private interests.

Madonsela released a report‚ titled State of Capture‚ in November previous year concerning allegations of an improper relationship between Zuma‚ other state officials and the Gupta family. "It (Zuma's recall) never arose", Dlamini said.

It also deeply divided the ANC, which has been in power since the end of white minority rule in South Africa in 1994. The Zondo Commission has to work along the lines of compliance with the recommendations and findings of the report from the former Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela, commented Neeshan Balton, the Foundation's Executive Director.

In partnership with Nedbank, one of South Africa's largest banks, companies controlled by or connected to the Gupta family extracted more than 1 billion rand (US$ 67.2 million) from Transnet, a state-owned company charged with constructing rail, port, and other transportation infrastructure, the OCCRP reported in November following a massive data leak now available to journalists worldwide.

Who Will Listen to Democrats' Warning on Russian Federation ?
The report warns that unless the US acts to counter the threat soon, Moscow will grow only more aggressive. Russian Federation also has rejected allegations of interfering with European elections.

"The Democratic Alliance (DA) welcomes the eventual decision by President Jacob Zuma‚ after all his efforts to delay have failed‚ to appoint a commission of inquiry into state capture‚ as per the public protector's State of Capture report‚" Maimane said in a statement.

She added that although evidence may have been compromised, the situation "can still be salvaged".

Madonsela says her understanding is quite clear about what the terms of reference of the commission should be. Now, however, he has been forced into offering it his full support.
