Qualcomm unveils 2 Gbps LTE modem

Qualcomm unveils 2 Gbps LTE modem

The carriers in its trials are AT&T, British Telecom, China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Deutsche Telekom, KDDI, KT Corporation, LG Uplus, NTT DOCOMO, Orange, Singtel, SK Telecom, Sprint, Telstra, TIM, Verizon and Vodafone Group. Connection to the entire range of spectrum bands to carriers would improve overall performance. Apart from this, Qualcomm also announced an additional partnership with companies that include Fujitsu Limited, Fujitsu Connected Technologies Limited, Inseego/Novatel Wireless, NetComm Wireless, NETGEAR, Sharp Corporation, Sierra Wireless, Telit, Wingtech, and WNC.

The Snapdragon X24 LTE might not sound like anything to get the tech glands all fizzy, but it claims to be the "world's most advanced 4G chip" able to deliver frankly ridiculous 2Gbps download speeds. So, it is possible that X24 LTE based mobile devices will launch only in 2019. The Snapdragon X20 is claimed to deliver download speeds of up to 1.2Gbps and is built on the commonly found 10nm process.

Sampling to customers has already begun with the first commercial devices expected by the end of 2018. It's likely that we'll see the X24 in the company's next-generation flagship chipset. The Snapdragon X24, on the other hand, is a future-ready modem - setting the ground for 5G connectivity. Today, Qualcomm announced its newest LTE modem for smartphones, the Snapdragon X24 which will enable 2 Gbps LTE speeds.

California assemblywoman at head of Me Too movement accused of harassment
She's still sending messages about sexual harassment with the same furious frequency as ever, determined to keep speaking out. It's men who chose to misbehave, not the social events themselves, that create the problems, she said.

The promised speeds are almost twice as high as the predecessor, the Snapdragon X20, embedded into the Snapdragon 845.

Qualcomm has previously talked up the 5G X50 modem - boasting speeds up to 5Gpbs, but as it's a 5G chip it will appear in handsets after the X24.

The X24 is still a 4G chip, but it features Full Dimension Multi-Input Multi-Output (FD-MIMO) antenna technology that is a key foundation of future 5G NR (New Radio) networks - 5G NR is the global 5G standard. As far as upload speeds go, that will be quite a bit slower with a maximum of 316Mbps, and 3x20MHz carrier aggregation.

West Ham chief urges fans to pull together
Thus, if West Ham are to stop themselves from falling into the relegation mire, Moyes needs to place his faith in Hernandez. Andy Carroll has a fractured foot and remains out, while Edimilson Fernandes has an ankle injury.

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can offer better mobile experiences such as 360-degree video, connected cloud computing, more entertainment and instant apps.

Serge Willenegger, senior vice president and general manager, 4G/5G and Industrial IOT, Qualcomm Wireless GmbH, said the Snapdragon X24 packs a powerful array of the most advanced 4G LTE technologies commercially available which will help mobile operators fully mobilize their spectrum assets and maximize the capacity of their networks. Operators will also be able to use their spectrum more efficiently while delivering high speeds to consumers.

Mikaela Shiffrin's PyeongChang debut must wait as women's giant slalom is postponed
One of the key lessons is emphasizing her love of skiing and desire to improve more than how she fares in any given race. The 22-year-old Shiffrin could be a transcendent figure over the next two weeks.
