Following the release of the annual issue's cover - which sees stunning newcomer Danielle Herrington make history as the third black woman on the cover - the magazine shared some behind-the-scenes footage. "I remember watching on 'The Tyra Banks Show, ' she said, she was the first black woman to cover Sports Illustrated. I hope that young girls who look at this cover are inspired to dream as big as I did and work hard to attain all their goals", Herrington, who first appeared the magazine past year, said.

The Compton native attended private school and told Fox News in an interview that her childhood was "pretty normal". "And we are not going anywhere".
