Trump Tells Putin 'Now Is Time' To Work For Israeli-Palestinian Peace

Amid a spat with Israel over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's claims of coordinating West Bank annexation moves with Washington Monday, US President Donald Trump pushed for a new peace initiative in a phone call with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

"We state that from now on we refuse to cooperate in any form with the U.S.in its status of a mediator, as we stand against its actions", Abbas told Putin at the start of talks in Moscow.

"The two presidents discussed other topics of mutual concern, and President Trump reiterated the importance of taking further steps to ensure the denuclearization of North Korea", according to the White House.

Trump has repeatedly complained that Russian Federation is not doing all he says it should to pressure North Korea to lay down its nuclear arms through stringent economic sanctions. On Sunday, Palestinian officials said Abbas will seek the help of the Russian president to implement an global multilateral mechanism for sponsoring the peace process.
