Cheaper MacBook Air expected for Q2 of this year

According to Engadget, the starting price of the current MacBook Air is around $999, which can be said to be too high for its outdated design and specs.

According to an update from the KGI Securities to Apple investors, the iPhone maker is designing a 13-inch MacBook air with a lower price tag this year. So, it will be a good move if Apple brings a cheaper MacBook Air without compromising much on performance side.

The lower price could be a bid to celebrate the MacBook Air line's 10 anniversary this year. The MacBook Air is available and sells reasonably well, however, but not for less than $1,000. The idea from Apple's perspective is to boost waning MacBook sales by offering a more widely accessible laptop. There are a lot of things that you'll be sacrificing in terms of connectivity, but if you end up purchasing a third-party USB-C hub that offers a multitude of ports and interfaces, you're pretty much golden on that front. So, Upgrading these models with cheaper price tag will surely help the company.
