Israeli ministers favor bill to exempt ultra-Orthodox from military service

Polls suggest he could remain prime minister and his Likud party could win the most seats in fresh elections despite police investigations into his affairs. The final word on whether to indict him rests with the attorney-general, a decision that could be months away.

Military service for ultra-Orthodox men is one of the most fraught topics in Israel and looked to undermine Netanyahu's coalition government, which has 66 out of the 120 lawmakers.
