Poor attendances at Arsenal home games a worry for Wenger

Despite that win in midweek, Arsenal fans demonstrated their apathy towards the team, with thousands of empty seats on show at the Emirates stadium on Sunday. An anthropologist would describe the period that Arsenal are in as "liminal" - on the threshold between disaster and not-as-bad-as-it-could-have-been.

Those who persevered got hope: a comfortable 3-0 victory for Arsenal, whose performance was assured, milestone-heavy, and nearly entirely inconsequential.

Arsenal winless run in the Premier League came to an end after an impressive performance from the gunners having gone pass Watford at the Emirates stadium 3-0 while Petr Cech reach the 200th clean sheet mark as Arsenal's trio were on target.

But he has not been able to participate in Arsenal's tilt at winning the Europa League due to a rule which manager Arsene Wenger recently insisted "doesn't make sense", with his absence a big miss as winning the competition now represents the club's best chance of securing a return to the Champions League. Going into the second leg with a two-goal away lead, Arsenal should have felt confident of progressing either way - they will be even more empowered now.
