Scholarship programme named after President Uhuru Kenyatta launched

A constituent of Kamba leaders have welcomed last week's commitment by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chieftain Raila Odinga to forge for national unity and cohesion.

Uhuru and Raila agreed to end dissent and work together to address a myriad of challenges facing the country bringing to an end the long protracted "war" between the Opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) and the ruling Jubilee Party.

The lawmakers are Gatanga MP Joseph Nduati, Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege, Igamba Ng'ombe MP Patrick Munene and Kipipiri's Amos Kimunya.

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Sunday strongly condemned the incident of throwing shoe at Nawaz Sharif . Sharif was about to address a gathering at a seminary in Lahore when the student lobbed shoes at him which hit his shoulder.

Education Cabinet Secretary (Minister) Amina Mohamed said the scholarships will boost Kenya's efforts to become food secure since they are agriculture and technology related.

"We are therefore suspending the people's assembly process, we want the process to be honest, truthful and unifying".

"He felt that talking directly to the President was the most practical thing to do, given the circumstances", said a source, who described the meeting as initially "tense" and devoid of the pleasantries that have characterised previous Nasa get-togethers.

The Mt Kenya leaders now say that the talks between Uhuru and Raila should be replicated across the country and that no life should be lost as a result of politics. "We call on the Kamba nation to rally behind this noble historical initiative for the good of our people", he said.

"Our caucus remains proactive, hawkeyed to initiate and support activities that will ensure speedy resolution of prevalent questions", he said.

The NASA leader, Mr. Odinga, would proceed to swear himself in on January 30, 2018 as the People's President in an event that was skipped by his co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Moses Wetangula (FORD Kenya), with the leaders saying they were under house arrest.
