'Affluenza' Texan, Who Killed 4 Driving Drunk, to Be Released

'Affluenza' Texan, Who Killed 4 Driving Drunk, to Be Released

At his trial in juvenile court that year, a psychologist testifying on his behalf described Couch as suffering from "affluenza".

According to Tarrant County Assistant Criminal District Attorney Richard Alpert, Couch raced down a narrow two-lane country road at almost 70mph and even played chicken with oncoming cars.

Business Insider said that Couch will remain on probation after he is freed from Tarrant County Jail in Texas.

Couch lost control of his family's pickup truck in 2013 after he and his friends had played beer pong and drank beer stolen from a Wal-Mart.

In addition to the four killed, nine were injured, several critically.

Gordon, Haniger homer in Mariners' win over Indians
Indians starter Trevor Bauer allowed only two runs, three walks and five hits against seven strikeouts over five innings of work. The Dodgers had opened the season with back-to-back 1-0 losses, with both Giants runs coming on Joe Panik home runs.

Couch was sentenced to 10 years of probation, sparking outrage from critics who ridiculed the affluenza defense and said his family's wealth had helped keep him out of jail. "From the beginning, Ethan has admitted his conduct, accepted responsibility for his actions, and felt true remorse for the awful consequences of those actions", said his attorneys, Scott Brown and Reagan Wynn, in a statement Monday.

If Couch violates the terms of his probation, he could face six years in prison.

He was three times over the legal limit for an adult when the crash happened, but in his trial, Ethan Couch's legal team blamed his rich background for leaving him unable to tell wrong from right. "Everyone seems to have hooked onto it", G. Dick Miller said.

In April 2016, Salvant gave Couch the toughest sentence the judge believed he could hand out - 180 days for each of the four people Couch killed, to be served consecutively.

The president of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Colleen Sheehey-Church, called his release a 'grave injustice.

Defunct Chinese space lab hurtles toward Earth on wide path
Only one person, Lottie Williams from Tulsa from Oklahoma, has ever been hit by debris from outer space till date. The best guess to date is that it will re-enter the earth between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Two years later - in December 2015 to be specific - Couch entered the news again when images and video began circulating on social media that appeared to show Couch drinking alcohol, putting him in violation of the terms of his probation.

A volunteer chaplain, Tim Williams, told the Star-Telegram in Dallas that he has seen Couch change in jail.

Couch will have a 9pm curfew when he is released and will have to wear a Global Positioning System and alcohol monitor.

The 20-year-old who drew global attention after a psychologist testified on his behalf and said he suffered from something called affluenza was released just after 8.30am local time from a jail in Tarrant County, Texas.
