Facebook announces changes, to make Ads, Pages more transparent

Facebook will also require the administrators of pages with a "large number" of followers to also be verified.

The company updated its data policy and proposed new terms of service on Wednesday to clarify that Messenger and Instagram use the same rules as Facebook.

The development comes as Facebook faces questions about trust in light of one of its worst privacy scandals in its 14-year history.

Facebook's revelation has bolstered suspicion that the Cambridge Analytica used the Philippines as a testing ground during the May 2016 elections for the "behavioral microtargeting, psychographic profiling, predictive analytics, and many other modern tools" touted by its president Alexander Nix before these were deployed in the November 2016 elections in the United States.
