CWG 2018: Shreyasi Singh wins gold in double trap

Shooter Shreyasi Singh won the gold medal in the women's double trap shooting event in the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Shreyasi shot a total of 96 across four rounds (24+25+22+25). Mittal, who is considered as India's top-ranked shooter when it comes to double trap format won the second bronze medal of the day in double traps men's finals of the CWG.

Cox grabbed second position while Linda Pearson of Scotland finished third to take home a bronze medal. The other Indian in the event, Varsha Varman finished fourth.

Rai was eliminated after 12 shots, in which he managed just one score of 10 or over. Pakistan's Aamer Iqbal was fifth with 31 points, while Australian James Willett got 23 points to finish last.

The 26-year-old Shreyasi, thus, improved on her Silver medal-winning effort at the Glasgow Games four years ago.
