Will Ferrell released from hospital following vehicle crash

The "Old School" star was taken to hospital alongside three other people who were also in the actor's auto. Ferrell was seen on a gurney, apparently speaking on a cellphone, before firefighter-paramedics placed him into an ambulance at the scene.

The accident happened just before 11:00 p.m. local time on Interstate 5 in Orange County, CA, known locally as the I-5 freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Earlier that night, the "Anchorman" star had made an appearance as title character Ron Burgundy at a Funny Or Die event with Billy Eichner in the San Diego area to promote youth turnout in the midterm elections.
