State Senator to Trump: Ask Greitens to Resign

There is increasing pressure on Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens to resign or be impeached after state legislators released a report this week detailing claims of sexual abuse made against him.

The woman testified to the committee that she had several additional sexual encounters with Greitens, including one in June 2015 when "he slapped me across my face" after she acknowledged having slept with her husband. Governor accused of taking a nude photo of a woman without her consent.

Defense lawyers for Greitens had attempted to delay the release of the report.

"I think his [Greitens] credibility is gone".

Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens says a state House committee's report on an investigation into his extramarital affair with his hairdresser will be "full of lies". "So, I'll follow his lead". It's unclear whether she may feel differently now that Greitens and his legal team have attacked that report.

Asked if he agreed with those calls, Rauner said, "I agree with them". "He coerced the young woman".

Greitens has repeatedly denied blackmailing and insisted the affair was consensual.

Gardner stated he had been blindsided when his announcement was left by Sessions in January with regards to bud prosecutions. But Trump has also railed at the dangers of drug-related crime and suggested recreational marijuana should not be permitted.

Greitens spokesman Parker Briden wrote in an email that in addition to the ethics appointments, the governor continued to work on state business in his office throughout the week.

When she remained silent, the woman said Greitens "spanked me and said, 'Are you going to mention my name?' And I said, I just gritted through my teeth, and I said, 'No.' And he's like, 'Good, now that's a good girl'".

Schaaf drafted a letter to President Trump Thursday asking for assistance in persuading Greitens to resign.

"This was an entirely consensual relationship, and any allegation of violence or sexual assault is false".

And some lawmakers say that Governor Eric Greitens could still face impeachment even if he's found not guilty at his trial in St. Louis next month. But Republican political consultant John Hancock says the scandal has had a debilitating effect on Greitens.

"Those words - spanking, hitting - you can't defend those actions", said Richard.

It is really shameful that the government was sitting silently for so long", Bhattacharya said to various reporters. A misunderstanding took place, they should have been more alert. "The women are not safe in this country.

The lawmakers initiated their probe after allegations surfaced publicly that Greitens photographed the woman naked without her consent and a St. Louis prosector brought a felony invasion of privacy charge against him.

State House Democratic Leader Gail McCann Beatty said Greitens "must resign and if he fails to do so, I believe, we should begin impeachment proceedings".

They say the state Constitution allows them to look at "moral turpitude", which is "an act or behavior that gravely violates the sentiment or accepted standard of the community".

"In the course of his motion argument, defendant accused the Circuit Attorney of suborning perjury". When previously asked about the allegations, Rauner said they were "very serious" but noted an investigation was underway.

The Circuit Attorney's Office responded by distributing a court filing Thursday afternoon. "She was a willing participant in everything they did, and the video goes a long way to establish that".

Gardner said in a court filing later Thursday that she supplied the video once her office determined it could be accessed. The defense and the judge, in this case, appear to be irate.
