The victor of the $533 million Mega Millions jackpot officially came forward.

Richard Wahl, who moved from MI last summer to take a job at a Hillside, New Jersey-based food service industry supplier, said he probably will stop working and use his winnings to help his family and friends.

In a message photographed April 1, 2018, the owner of the Lukoil gas station and mini-mart on New Jersey 23 in Riverdale, N.J., is hoping lottery customers will think the store's Mega Millions luck will rub off on them.

At New Jersey Lottery headquarters Friday, Wahl was handed the traditional oversized check.

I'm not going to go there, there's no point. "But I've got no loyalties to them any more so hopefully we'll have a good weekend". Wood said: "I had a great time there, I think it's a great club".

"For us we believe God has a plan.it's not only life-changing money for me, we want it to be life-changing money for others". He just selected easy pick and the numbers were completely random.

He said he will share the jackpot with "family and friends who struggle every day", and might indulge in his dream of restoring a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette. They waited tow weeks before coming forward.

New Jersey's only other appearance on the top-10 Mega Millions winnings list was in 2007 when the state shared a $390 million jackpot with Georgia, according to the Mega Millions website. So, when his mother called to say someone in his new home state had won it, his response was: It wasn't me.

He said he went back to the Lukoil to fuel up after he won but before he came forward.

He declined to talk about his family or go into details about where they might go or if they'd move.

Wahl plans to hire a financial advisor to help him manage the money. He also plans to take care of his mother, who has been living on a reduced income.

If the victor chooses the cash option, he or she will receive a little more than $324 million. Today, 44 states participate along with Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Wahl's win was the fourth-biggest in the game's history.
