Jets top Wild 3-2 in playoff opener

Jets top Wild 3-2 in playoff opener

National Hockey League 1st round playoff action on Friday evening and a pair of teams from the Central Division will square off as the Minnesota Wild pay a visit to the MTS center in Winnipeg, Manitoba to rumble with the Winnipeg Jets in game two of their best-of-seven series.

The concept of a whiteout was less fun for the Jets come Saturday, as they tried to make their way to the Twin Cities for Game 3. His absence Friday would have a significant ripple effect on the lines and the second power-play unit, but official word on his status appears unlikely before the team takes the ice for pregame warmups.

To his last point the Flyers were actually credited with two fewer blocked shots on Friday, but that's really not important - if he thinks it gave him more confidence, so be it.

Paul Stastny, Andrew Copp and Patrik Laine scored in the third period for Winnipeg.

Midway through the game, former Calder Trophy victor, defenceman Tyler Myers walked around Minny's Jason Zucker, before shifting his way directly to the Wild cage, and burying a quick snapshot past the near-unbeatable Devan Dubnyk.

It took almost 100 minutes, but the Golden Knights finally took Game 2 from the Los Angeles Kings in a 2-1 marathon.

Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro Have a 'Meet the Parents' Reunion
The reference of milk was a call back to the 2000 flick where De Niro and Stiller discussed mammary glands. There were a couple of nods to " Meet the Parents ", including at the end.

"I've just got to keep working", he said.

But that's not all he does. But the simple fact starting goalie Brian Elliott was able to bounce back after giving up five goals on only 19 shots in Game 1 (the fifth time in five meetings this season that the Penguins had scored at least five goals against the Flyers) before getting pulled and play the game he did may have been the single biggest factor in the win. "That was a great play on Stastny's goal".

"There is for the players who have been here since the team came back", Maurice said. "His game was underappreciated this year". "I don't think we played as well as we can". But he didn't score and that seemed to draw a lot of the concern.

With so many games in so little time many players skip the morning skate in the playoffs anyway.

Swallowing a huge chunk of injured workhorse Ryan Suter's minutes, 23-year-old defenceman Mathew Dumba took Saturday's practice off and is reportedly playing banged up.

After winning the 2010 Stanley Cup and bringing it back to Roseau, Byfuglien was traded.

Janice Dickinson testifies Bill Cosby raped her
Mesereau asked the question multiple times and attempted to portray Dickinson as a liar in other ways. "I don't lie, sir". After her daughter was born, a DNA test confirmed Stallone was not the father, Dickinson said, adding "thank God".

It is nearly never any one particular thing that goes into a win, and on Friday there was a lot that went right for the Flyers that went wrong in the first game. "You never know what can happen".

Vasilevskiy stopped 41 shots, while limiting the Devils to rookie Nico Hischier's unassisted goal in the opening period and Sami Vatanen's sixth career playoff goal late in the second before Blake Coleman's third-period tally trimmed Tampa Bay's lead to 5-3 with eight minutes left. With the Minnesota net empty and the Wild on a six-on-four man-advantage, Zach Parise redirected a point shot into Winnipege's net, ruining Connor Hellebuyck's bid for his first career playoff shutout.

The Winnipeg Jets had some major momentum enter the playoffs and they kept it going with a 3-2 win in game one, which was their first playoff win in franchise history.

The Jets entered the postseason with victories in 11 of their final 12 regular-season games.

"We have a game plan", Byfuglien said. We just want to play fast, be on the body. Don't go chasing them. "We'll do our best to get this third game and go from there".
