FA Cup semi-final preview - Man Utd v Spurs

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has again admitted a title challenge next season will depend on Manchester City's transfer plans. Although classed as a neutral game, Spurs are actually using their current home ground as Wembley is serving as their temporary home whilst the new stadium at White Hart Lane is completed.

United came out on top at Old Trafford in October as Anthony Martial scored a late victor in a 1-0 success, before Spurs won 2-0 the last time the teams met at Wembley at the end of January courtesy of an early Christian Eriksen strike and an unfortunate own goal by Phil Jones.

Louis van Gaal's FA Cup triumph in 2016 got the ball rolling, but his prosaic style and underwhelming substance meant the outspoken Dutchman lost his job within days of the final.

"So I think when you go to these big moments with these big decisions, semi-finals, finals, I don't think it's an advantage".

The support will be split 50-50 so there will be far more United fans there than the allocation away teams get for Premier League games, but Spurs will still have the familiarity you get from playing at the same place all the time - and it is a definite advantage.

The sides first met in October 2017 at Old Trafford where United scraped a late 1-0 victory over a Spurs side without Harry Kane. At the same time, Tottenham, a team on the up and up, would love to win the FA Cup and take control fully of North London from rivals Arsenal.

"It was good to win two trophies last year but if you don't win a trophy for another two years you don't really have that consistency".

I remember being at Liverpool when we won the 2001 League Cup and stumbled over the line against Birmingham on penalties in the final.

"Obviously past year we picked up a couple of trophies and I think the manager has instilled that in terms of his training preparations", said the defender, who scored in Wednesday's 2-0 win at Bournemouth as well as the victor in the recent Manchester derby. It was nearly a case that we had one in the bag and it became easier trying to chase others - and we went on to win two more that season.

The cup will keep them going of course, and obviously I am not saying they don't want to win it.

It also targets a Russian military intelligence service, the GRU, which the US government accused of interfering in the election. Following his upset election win over Hillary Clinton in 2016, many wondered how Donald Trump was able to pull off the victory.

"If you are going to change the vision or put the club in a different level you must compete to win the Premier League and then to compete and then win the Champions League".
