Rolls-Royce SUV will be built in the United Kingdom, says carmaker's boss

This is the all-new Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The Cullinan is due to join the Ghost, Wraith, Dawn and Phantom in showrooms later this year.

The first thing you notice, though, are the four doors, which close in the traditional coach format. In essence, it features two rear-facing leather chairs with an accompanying cocktail table in the SUV's rear compartment.

Behind the back thrones, the cargo floor normally sits lower than the tops of the rear seat cushions.

This feature has been one of our top requests and you'll be able to turn on Continued Conversation in the coming weeks. And surprisingly they are now available to some users. "But it's not strictly interchangeable between genders".

Rolls-Royce has thrown out one more teaser for its new Cullinan SUV ahead of its official debut on May 10. Five USB ports can be used to charge electronic devices, while mobile phones can be wirelessly charged in the front of the cabin.

The 563 hp Cullinan carries a 6.75-liter, twin-turbo V-12 engine with 627 ft lbs of torque. Rolls-Royce also boasts that the Cullinan has the deepest wading depth of any luxury SUV at 540mm. The famous "magic air ride" feel that rendered the Phantom peerless is present here, too. Larger air struts with more air volume have been added to cushion the blows of the off-road terrains, and the front axle suspension layout has been completely redesigned.

All-new, all-wheel drive and an all-wheel steering system-the first in Rolls-Royce history-come standard. The whole package manages a limited 155 miles per hour / 250 km/h top speed. The Lounge Seat layout is the more functional of the two and has space for three passengers in a traditional bench-style single seat, which can be electrically folded in a number of configurations.

Simon Yates of Britain finished fourth in the stage and moved up from sixth to third overall, 17 seconds behind. The day's racing was marred by an accident that has left a motorcyclist in a critical condition.

The Cullinan also gets all the safety functions you would expect; Alertness Assistant; a 4-Camera system with Panoramic View, all-round visibility and helicopter view; Night Vision and Vision Assist including daytime and night-time Wildlife & Pedestrian warning; Active Cruise Control; Collision Warning; Cross-Traffic Warning, Lane Departure and Lane Change Warning; an industry leading 7×3 High-Resolution Head-Up Display, WiFi hotspot, and of course the latest Navigation and Entertainment Systems. The gas-guzzler tax, estimated to be roughly $5,000 for that 18.8 miles per gallon rating, will also apply. And if you're lucky enough to have your name down already, first deliveries should be at the very end of this year or early in 2019.

The Cullinan has 626 pound-feet of torque, marginally less than that of the Lamborghini Urus.

One of the more eccentric options is the Cullinan Viewing Suite. The face is trademark Rolls-Royce, with the stainless-steel pantheon grille taking centrestage, flanked by the eyebrow-like LED daytime running lights.
