HTC Has A Blockchain-powered Phone In The Works

HTC Has A Blockchain-powered Phone In The Works

The obvious theme of the Exodus is decentralization (the website for the phone even labels it as an "agent of decentralization"). It will be launched later this year at a price of $999 (although those paying with Sirin's own cryptocurrency get a 10% discount).

HTC has announced that it is now working on a new Android device that will be powered, in part, by blockchain technology. Blockchain is supposed to be safer than current centralized record keeping, and many are touting it as the wave of the future. This time, I'll be coming back to HTC (previously helped create the HTC Vive) as their Decentralized Chief Officer, specifically to focus on blockchain & cryptocurrency initiatives for HTC.

There's not really a lot of information beyond that and the above drawing, but HTC is clearly gunning to make a splash as its numbers have shrunk in overall proportion to a declining smartphone market.

Muqtada al-Sadr Alliance Wins Elections in Iraq
By the end of the announcement, al-Sadr's list had the highest popular vote, followed by al-Amiri's. The government should be formed within 90 days of the official results.

Although they have been losing some popularity, cryptocurrencies are still some of the most popular digital assets. While that phone is expected to arrive in October 2018, it had been priced at $1000, which may give us an inkling to what HTC may charge for its device. The phone will also support decentralized applications (DApps).

"The company plans to create a blockchain network using "Exodus" phones to facilitate cryptocurrency trading among the phone users", the report added.

HTC, however, isn't the first to come out with a Blockchain-powered phone. The blockchain is taking baby steps towards gaining mass acceptance and this seems to have caught with the fancy of phone makers.

President Trump Flies Again to Recovering Wife Melania's Side
Trump's spokeswoman had said the first lady was likely to remain hospitalized for "the duration of the week". First Lady Melania Trump had surgery on Monday morning for what aides called a "benign" kidney condition.

There's now no information on when the device will be released, but the HTC Exodus landing page does include a "Reserve" button.

In addition to cryptocurrency manipulation, blockchain is touted for its ability to offer both better security and user experience by incorporating cold wallet storage - offline cryptocurrency storage - directly into the phone.

That being said, we are not sure how secure the device will be since it is still based on Android and not a custom OS.

35 tribals missing as boat capsizes in Godavari
Even before one come to terms with it, the fresh tragedy of capsizing of a boat carrying wedding troupe come as a huge shocker. Officials said since the boat capsized at a remote area and information on what exactly happened was not received.

In addition to actually developing the physical device, HTC is also working on a proprietary blockchain network that will leverage its Exodus devices as individual nodes.
