U.S. stands apart on Gaza, justifies embassy move to Jerusalem

"Let's remember that the Hamas terrorist organization has been inciting violence for years, long before the United States made a decision to move our embassy", Haley told United Nations officials, according to Politico.

Canada, along with its major allies, does not support the US embassy move to Jerusalem, saying that's a decision for a future peace agreement between the Palestinians and Israelis.

"This is the life of the Palestinian people, and those who think that opening the embassy opens doors to peace, let them look at what is really happening in the Gaza Strip", he added.

He urged the global community to refrain from taking unilateral action that steers Israel and Palestine away from the peace process. He said there is "no justification for the killing" and that "Israel has a responsibility to calibrate it's use of force".
