Schumer: Dems Spent Too Much Time Attacking Trump in '16

The Senate will cancel most of its annual August recess, majority leader Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky, told senators on Tuesday, an election-year move that will force vulnerable Democratic senators to shuffle their campaign schedules. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, as he pushed to confirm nominations. The Senate often is not in session on Fridays. But he didn't close the door on an amendment vote in the defense policy bill.

The Senate is expected to consider the NDAA as soon as this week.

The White House has defended Mr. Trump's actions, saying the president was clear during the campaign that he was going to try to use the levers at his disposal to reconfigure the trade playing field.

"Senate Republicans are running scared", Quigley concluded. Republicans have nine incumbents on the ballot. Trump inherited more than 100 vacancies on day one of his term, including the Supreme Court seat held open for almost a year. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and others who have been meeting privately - and with Democrats - would be narrowly crafted legislation requiring congressional approval of the tariffs Trump has imposed in the name of national security. Will Hurd, R-Texas, said he would support a similar move in the House. "I think we'll be here in August", Gardner said. Dean Heller of Nevada, who is facing reelection in a state Hillary Clinton won in 2016.

Jared Leto Gets His Own Joker Movie for DC and Warner Bros
Warner working on a standalone movie focusing on the 46-year-old actor's villainous character, Variety reports. It's currently unknown when this film would go into production, as Leto and the studio will now search for a writer.

The centrists want to provide a way for the young immigrants to become permanent residents, which can lead to citizenship. Johnson is a co-sponsor of the new bill.

"You'd have to pass a [bill] that he would want to sign into law and that would be what it would take", the Wisconsin Republican told reporters.

The House of Representatives is still scheduled to be away the entire month of August. Underscoring the sensitivity of the session, staff is to be excluded.

McConnell said he "can't imagine" that the Trump administration is "not thinking about this" possibility as rumors of Kennedy's impending retirement persist.

Blizzard Confirms It's Working on an Unannounced Diablo Project
Previous Blizzard job ads have also hinted that a new Diablo is on the way, but this is by far the most blatant. You can read an excerpt from the job listing which mentions the project below.

Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, a senior GOP appropriator and chairman of the Energy-Water spending subcommittee, said he did not know exactly how many weeks of August senators would end up being at the Capitol, but he suggested it should be dictated by the workload. "I don't believe that there is". "On policy grounds, they strongly support this".

"The staggering negative impact of the administration's proposed tariffs is already being felt by workers and businesses across the country", said Flake. He said, "They must have permanent status immediately and they must have the option of a bridge into the legal immigration system", meaning a pathway to citizenship. Also, all 100 senators would have to agree to let it get a vote - a particularly tall order since Trump's opposition hints at a potential veto and the defense measure has broad backing.

Congress' August recess normally is closely guarded as a time for lawmakers to take foreign "fact-finding" trips, campaign for re-election and ramp up campaign fundraising operations. The majority of Republican senators and representatives have confirmed Trump's nominees, agreed to blow up the USA deficit, and generally declined to comment on unsavory details about his personal life.
