Woman involved in Wildwood beach arrest shares her side of story

The objective of the preliminary investigation was to determine whether the Professional Standards Unit ("PSU") of the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office would conduct the Internal Affairs investigation based on possible criminal charges against the arresting officer (s), or whether the Wildwood Police Department would conduct an Administrative Internal Affairs Investigation.

A preliminary investigation into the violent May 26 altercation, which was captured on video, found that "the actions" of the Wildwood police officers who arrested Emily Weinman "did not meet the evidentiary standards to warrant criminal charges", under state law, a news release from the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office said. Police say she became belligerent after officers asked her to submit to a Breathalyzer test. "Kind of upset to hear the negative things people say about me".

Weinman said she suffered injuries to her neck, back and head as a result of the incident and that the psychological aftermath has been "emotionally exhausting". "And that's not the case", Weinman said of that decision.

And she has no intention of telling the officers involved that she's sorry, she said in the interview.

River of lava destroys hundreds of Hawaiian homes
Marzo said that "a'ā", a type of flow involving broken lava blocks called clinkers, had covered the entirety of Kapoho Bay. Lava in Vacationland early Tuesday claimed the second home of Harry Kim, the mayor of the Big Island, Snyder said.

The body cam footage shows the officer pulling Weinman's hair and pinning her to the sand as she cries out in distress. So when they got me to the point where they got me on my stomach, after I was done struggling, trying to defend myself, I spit the sand from my mouth, which makes me look like I'm spitting at the officer.

Weinman, who lives in Philadelphia, is on probation for a simple assault charge from 2016.

"I'm very sorry that the situation happened, but I don't owe them an apology at all".

Police said Weinman "forcibly struck" the officer when he attempted to handcuff her, causing his body camera to shut off. "After the bystander video came out and started getting attention, that's when they charged her with the aggravated assault", Dicht said.

Unfortunately for Greene, mass upheavals forced her to tactfully reassess. But Google has also been facing outside pressure.

"The Saturday she was taken into custody, she was in custody for about 40 minutes, she was charged with misdemeanors". Weinman then is seen spitting toward the officers. "They see one video, one situation, and saying all this negative stuff about a person".

In statement, Sutherland said, "As County Prosecutor, I recognize that the video footage has raised a lot of questions regarding the officers' actions".

She also said, "One situation doesn't define someone". "It is based upon applying the proper laws, policies and directives that govern law enforcement". The Wildwood Police Department's Internal Affairs Unit is now conducting an administrative investigation into the incident.
