Centrist Democrats charge through California primaries

In California, Republicans avoided an embarrassing setback Tuesday in the race for governor.

Republicans did manage to get John Cox into the top-two runoff for California governor and said they were excited about candidates who won their primaries in key Senate races.

Here's something rarely heard after a California election: Republicans had a pretty good night.

Trump posted a tweet Wednesday congratulating Rancho Santa Fe's Cox on advancing to the general election in November.

"Donald Trump and the billionaire class should consider this victory a warning shot: The blue wave is coming", Haaland said in a statement.
