LeBron James likens Golden State Warriors to New England Patriots

LeBron James likens Golden State Warriors to New England Patriots

Especially in the NBA Finals.

Things are not looking good for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they trail the Golden State Warriors 3-0 in the NBA Finals for the second straight season.

In Wednesday night's Game 3, finished just an hour before, James scored 33 points (in logging a 10th career National Basketball Association finals triple-double), limited Warriors star Steph Curry to just one three-point shot and still Cleveland lost, 110-102. Curry finally buried a 3 and after James matched him with a long shot, Iguodala drove the lane for a thundering dunk. "That's just who I am". And then you have Draymond (Green), who is arguably one of the best defenders and minds we have in our game. The Cavs played right into the Warriors' hands, and paid the price for it. "The one he made tonight was about four or five feet behind the one he made previous year".

To put that in perspective, Durant didn't have more than one make from past 30 feet in any playoff game beforehand and no team has ever had four 30-foot makes in the playoffs.

James elaborated on the challenge the Warriors present since adding Durant. NBA Finals MVP was Curry's honor to lose. In his breakout performance, he also added eight assists and grabbed seven of Golden State's 41 rebounds.

Kevin Durant's 43-point performance in Game 3 came on a night when Curry and Klay Thompson combined to shoot 7-of-27 from the field.

Golden State backed Durant's effort by having five players reach double-digits. So hopefully James just guns for the stats Friday night. LeBron and the Cavaliers have played well to get to the finals but I feel this is the end of the road for them. They just think that you go out, and, 'Oh, LeBron, you're bigger and faster and stronger than everybody, you should drive every single time and you should dunk every single play and you should never get exhausted, never'. The opposition is actually outscoring the Cavs by nearly a point per game in the postseason. And yet, Durant is the better player in a vacuum, and he's taken full advantage of the focus on Curry by putting up two straight high-scoring, efficient games.

"We have an opportunity to extend the series, but we've got to come out and play 48 minutes", James said. That's not almost enough against an all-time great team. It's good to have a polarizing championship team.

Two more United States diplomats in China hit by mysterious illness, reports say
On Wednesday, the State Department said it was evacuating several more Americans from Guangzhou for further health screenings. Each experienced symptoms that resemble an illness which has affected dozens of Americans in Cuba since 2016.

Golden State defeats Cleveland 110-102 and are 1 win away from clinching the championship. But even for the greatest player of his generation, and possibly the greatest in the history of the sport, there are some burdens that are too great for even him to carry. Golden State has enjoyed a degree more success when pegged as a road favorite, going 10-5 SU in 15 outings since February 14, but is just 8-7 ATS during that stretch, including a middling 4-3 ATS during these playoffs, according to the OddsShark NBA Database. Most people didn't think they had a chance in this series and you could make the argument that with a few more lucky bounces Cleveland has a 2-1 lead going into Friday night's Game 4. He totaled 11 points, and two of those came on free throws after the game was out of reach.

"A 3-0 lead and we just kind of laid an egg". The Warriors aren't necessarily invincible, but the impact of a sweep could mean James moves in the offseason. He is rumored to be interested in playing for the Philadelphia 76ers or the Los Angeles Lakers. That's to be determined, however, after this series.

Durant also hit a go-ahead three-pointer in the finals past year against Cleveland with 45 seconds remaining.

Why would Game 4 be any different? As the old Yogi Berra saying goes, "It ain't over till it's over". "I've got a Game 5 outfit".

Alan O'Neill Dead: 'Sons of Anarchy' Actor Dies at 47
Irish actress Jenny Dixon said in a touching twitter post that it was a "privilege" to have known O'Neill. Added Kristen Renton , who portrayed Ima Tite on the series, "RIP sir..." A great man, sadly missed.

"I knew that my talent level here in Cleveland couldn't succeed getting past a Boston, getting past the San Antonios of the league or whatever the case may be", he said. "It's pretty dope. I really don't want to wear it, though".
