Residents storm the Aberdares Forest to search for Missing Fly Sax plane

Search for the plane, its crew and passengers is still ongoing.

The wreckage was spotted southwest of the Aberdare mountain range almost two days after contact was lost during the flight from the western town of Kitale to the capital, Nairobi.

"The response by police is extremely slow, we have been in the forest before, we are going to use the manual method and walk into the forest to find our fellow citizens instead of these delays", said the angry residents.

All 10 people aboard a small plane which crashed Tuesday in a mountainous region in central Kenya are dead, government officials told CNN Thursday.

A light aircraft with ten people onboard, which was flying from Kitale town in western Kenya to Nairobi, went missing on Tuesday, the country's aviation authorities have confirmed.

After two days of trauma and combined efforts to locate the FlySax plane that went missing on Tuesday, June 5, its wreckage has been finally spotted south of the Aberdares by an aerial search team.

The two pilots were reported to be experienced and it is feared the aircraft flew into bad weather over Aberdare forest around Kinangop in Nyandarua where its signals were last traced to at 5pm.

"Search and rescue teams. were activated immediately and have as at this evening yielded no results".
