Hilarious Tweets About IHOP Changing Their Name to IHOB

The move sent pancake breakfast lovers into a furore and sparked snarky broadsides from rivals already deeply rooted in the hamburger business.

The announcement came out Monday morning, IHOP is now the International House Of Burgers.

It's only a marketing campaign.

IHOP baited the public a week ago saying it was changing its last initial to "B" in a rebranding exercise.

It's not the first time the 60-year-old chain has tried to expand beyond breakfast - without much success.

Trudeau said the seven nations had reached broad agreements on a range of economic and foreign policy goals. That's what week, dishonest Justin Trudeau did. "And that comes right from Air Force One".

Although at least one IHOP location in Hollywood received new IHOb signs, IHOP president Darren Rebelez told CNNMoney the vast majority of the almost 1,800 other locations will still go by IHOP.

"Dear Internet, we abbreciate your batience", the pancake burger chain tweeted. All other locations will serve up the full slate of new burgers. But, Rebelez assured, the vast majority of the almost 1,800 other locations will still go by IHOP.

So, to use another B-word, will there be a backlash?

IHOP, which recently changed its iconic name to IHOb, has revealed what the new consonant stands for: "burgers".

Rebelez isn't anxious that people will be disappointed.

In response, Trump tweeted on his way to Singapore that he instructed USA representatives not to endorse the communique. Trump, who is pushing his "America First" policy, said his ultimate goal was the elimination of all trade duties.

Fans of the chain don't appear impressed by the new name. But most fans figured that it was just a way to get people talking.

Rebelez also said that the menu shake-up and temporary new name was a "high-risk maneuver".

With that being said, they have "breakfast" burgers, as well. They showed us why America needed a restaurant with a pancake-based menu.

Burger King took it a step further and altered its logo on all its social media platforms to "Pancake King". Why mess with a good thing? Is Rebelez anxious that he's competing more directly with his corporate sibling? An IHOP flag sits atop the pile of pancakes as it waves in the wind.

Other companies like MoonPie and Pop-Tarts threw some not-so-subtle shade at IHOb.
