Trump's North Korean gamble ends with 'special bond' with Kim

After a day of taking selfies and touring Singapore's trendiest hot spots, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is ready to shake the hand of a sitting American president for the first time. "The two leaders vowed to continue their close coordination following President Trump's meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore".

After Trump's stern speech about North Korea's nuclear weapon program last November, Kim's government responded by calling the USA president an "old lunatic" - to which Trump responded by passively calling the North Korean leader "short and fat". Trump's chief of staff, national security adviser and secretary of state are among those expected to join.

In the past few weeks, Trump has repeatedly said that he would simply walk out of the meeting with Chairman Kim, if he sensed that North Korea was not serious in denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Other students described Kim as shy and introverted, the magazine said, adding that he enjoyed skiing and was interested in basketball.

The air of uncertainty was confirmed by Trump himself. They also say by winning the prestige of a meeting with the world's most powerful leader, Mr Kim has already gained a victory. He says, "We're going to have a great discussion and a terrific relationship".

Proposal to split California into 3 states qualifies for November ballot
If the unlikely plan is successful, it would be the first time an existing US state split since West Virginia was created in 1863. A controversial plan to split the Golden State into three separate states qualified for the November 6th ballot.

Kim left his hotel around the time Trump's motorcade reached the summit location, in what appeared to be an all-black armored Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman Guard luxury limousine, possibly the same vehicle Kim rode in to Panmunjom to meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-in in April. Japan's foreign ministry regards the abductions as "a critical issue concerning the sovereignty of Japan", and has said that any normalization of relations between Tokyo and Pyongyang can only happen after its resolved. The moniker "mafia state" is often applied to the country too, accurately capturing North Korea's status as the only known state sponsor of counterfeit USA dollar bill and methamphetamine production.

CBS News was in Pyongyang previous year when Kim unveiled an entire new block of modern high-rises in the capital.

Rodman has faced ridicule and criticism for his trips to North Korea, which some USA politicians and activists view as serving only as fodder for North Korean propaganda.

Observers said that the heavy domestic focus of both leaders suggested that both would be determined to portray the outcome as a success, whatever was and was not agreed in their meeting at the Capella grand colonial-era hotel on Sentosa, a holiday resort advertised by Singapore as "the State of Fun".

Trump says Canadian leader Justin Trudeau 'learned' from trade comments
In contrast, Trump was mostly smiles with North Korea's Kim Jong Un on Monday, and said talks between them were "top-of-the-line". The president said he was annoyed by Trudeau's comments about not letting Canada get pushed around.

On May 10, Trump announced that he would meet Kim on June 12 in Singapore.

Trump had tweeted over the weekend: "I am on my way to Singapore where we have a chance to achieve a truly wonderful result for North Korea and the World". "If they don't denuclearise, that will not be acceptable", Mr Trump said ahead of the meeting.

"We're prepared to take actions that will provide them sufficient certainty that they can be comfortable that denuclearization isn't something that ends badly for them", Pompeo said.

The sides first spoke through intelligence channels, with United States analysts working to determine Kim's true willingness to abandon a nuclear program started by his grandfather and viewed by Pyongyang as a security blanket from outside aggressors.

Rumours Kim was on the move swept through the ranks of the 2000 worldwide media covering the summit between Kim and Trump. They were prompted by North Korea's withdrawl from the Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) and their interception of a USA spy plane.
