UK's Prince Louis to be christened next month, palace says

Princess Charlotte was christened on 5 July 2015 at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

Prince Louis will be three months old, which is how old Prince George was for his Christening, while Princess Charlotte was two months old at the time of hers at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham. The date coincidently falls a week after Prince George finishes his school year and Princess Charlotte breaks for the summer.

Prince Louis of Cambridge's christening will take place on July 9, Kensington Palace has announced.

Louis Arthur Charles - to give him his full name - was born on 23 April.

Royal fans are set to get their first glimpse of the newest member of the Cambridge clan, with the announcement of Prince Louis's Christening.

The tradition of wearing the gown started in 1841 when the original gown was made for Queen Victoria's first child Princess Victoria's baptism. "His big sister, Lady Louise Windsor, had been the last royal to wear the original gown", the site notes.

George held William's hand, while baby Charlotte was pushed by Kate in a vintage pram, previously used for two of the Queen's children.
